Leaf collecting, leaf sorting . . . . . beautiful autumnal leaves
Putting the allotment to bed for winter - Oct15
Forest School is an important part of who we are. We are very lucky to have a plot of land that is located next to the school on an island in the middle of Bishopstone pond. On the site we have a shed for our equipment, an allotment area then a 'wild' forest area with trees and lots of wonderful creatures to be found. Our Forest School Teacher moved on to a new role in September 2014 so we are busy training up a new member of staff. We are also delighted to welcome a local forest school leader onto the team who will be teaching blocks of sessions to both KS1 and KS2 in the spring/summer term.
The area is also used for other areas of the curriculum. We have held drama sessions, science lessons, PE . . . . all utilising the wonderful resource we have access to. Our thanks go to the Parish Council who allow us to use this area as our own.
