We are delighted to be working in partnership with Edwards and Ward Catering, click here for their website. Thank you to all those who came along to the 'tasting session' held in the village hall at the end of the summer term 2016. The opinions were very positive and we followed parental requests, swapping over from Cygnet Catering. We have 'hot boxed' food delivered daily, cooked on the premises of St Francis Primary in Swindon (2019).
Dinners are eaten by the children in the school. Upon reflection with the children around behaviour, loss of the school MDSA and budget restrictions we moved from the Village Hall to the school.
Children who are bringing their own pack lunch also eat in the school. We currently complete two sittings Mon-Thur and one sitting on a Friday. This means that KS1 all sit to eat immediately at 12 noon. KS2 go out to play. Once KS1 have been served the remaining year groups are called in for hot meals. At 12:30 children who eat a packed lunch go inside to eat.
Now our new Reception children have settled we are also introducing a slightly 'rolling system' so that the age groups mix, the older children assisting younger and positive role models are seen by all. (Sept19)
