Whenever the weather is lovely the children all eat outside which we feel promotes a sense of unity when eating. It also allows the children to learn to eat together, with the influences of the older children. We managed to eat outside right up to October half term this year (2021)

We are delighted to be working in partnership with Edwards and Ward Catering, click here for their website. Thank you to all those who came along to the 'tasting session' held in the village hall at the end of the summer term 2016. The opinions were very positive and we followed parental requests, swapping over from Cygnet Catering. We have 'hot boxed' food delivered daily, cooked on the premises of St Francis Primary in Swindon (2019). From September 2021 our hot boxes will now come from Nythe Primary School.
Dinners are eaten by the children in the classrooms. Upon reflection with the children around behaviour, loss of the school MDSA and budget restrictions we moved from the Village Hall to the school.
Children who are bringing their own pack lunch also eat in the school. KS1 all sit to eat immediately at 12 noon. KS2 go out to play. Once KS1 have been served the remaining year groups are called in for hot meals. At 12:30 children who eat a packed lunch go inside to eat.
As per the updated Allergy Guidance (DfE Oct19) We always ensure the menu from Edwards and Ward meets all requirements including pupils who cannot eat certain ingredients due to an allergy or other medical condition.

Autumn 2021 - coming soon
Re-assessed - still Grade 5
November 2014 - SBC visited the school and looked at the service and preparation of the food and we were awarded 5 stars (see below for the certification). Both Miss Lindsay and Mrs Keller have Level 2 Food hygiene Certificate. January 2017 - SBC visited the school and again we were awarded 5 stars. Dinners are served by an employee from Edwards and Ward who completes the relevant checks on arrival, with the food delivered in hot boxes daily.
SBC were notified in Sept19 the change in venue and consulted to ensure that all appropriate measures are being put in place by the school with regards to serving lunches in the school classrooms. This means we no longer will be given a food hygiene rating.
